Out of the Pandemic and Into the Modern Workplace: A Conversation with PwC Germany

by Liz Behlke

Remote work and the pandemic didn’t start the modern workplace revolution. But it sure moved things along. Covid lockdowns accelerated ways of working that previously seemed to always be part of an idealistic future.

For years, innovation leaders in forward-thinking companies have been exploring ways to implement technology in response to evolving social and economic factors. Companies looking for ways to increase productivity, attract and retain the best workers, and maintain a competitive edge have come to realise that adding new technology is only part of the solution.

PwC Germany (PwC) helps companies fuse technology and processes with a people-first approach to create modern workplaces that really work. The pandemic put their strategies to the test: Employees have found great satisfaction in newly-flexible working arrangements. Some even took advantage of remote work to look for more meaningful occupations, leaving employers scrambling to hire. Companies had to adapt both their systems and management philosophies to keep up with changes brought on by technology.
